I can't walk down Halsey Street without seeing a friend, colleague or business owner of one of the places I frequent. Usually, its all three. The energy, great coffee, food, art, unique shops and nightlife make Halsey Street one of my favorite places in Newark. Fun fact: My dog is named Halsey too. After the street.

I have been hanging out in Newark for years, but I’m still always amazed at the sense of welcoming community, respect and support for artists and the cool secret spots that are constantly popping up. I love Newark.

Halsey brings to bear everything that I love about cities; design and architecture, shopping, restaurants, the arts. But, what makes Halsey a truly soulful place are the people. I've never spent time in a more welcoming place.

Halsey Street is the heartbeat of the Arts & Education District and has become the center stage for economic opportunities and a center of entertainment. The spirit of the city's overall cultural vibrancy beams through the street into the district impacting the lives of residents and visitors of the great City of Newark. Halsey Street continues to transform into a livable, walkable, safe place for shopping, eating, learning and nightlife living.
